Dearest husband of Julaine Fern Eley (nee: Tolar); dear son of the late Sam and Mary Christine Eley; devoted father of Cherri (David) Elder, Nicole (Mitch) Dawe, Sandra William and Kevin Chrisman and Walter "Butch" (Stephanie) Eley, Jr.; beloved grandfather of Marsha, Bryan, Cheyenne, Shannon, Jerry, Jr., Shane, Holly, Christopher, Stephanie, Khristine, Brendan and Kyle, Matthew; great-grandfather of Marley, Jerry III, Ella, Jack, Kayla, and Tristan. He was a beloved uncle, great-uncle and friend to all who knew him. He is preceded in death by brothers, Jack, Jr., Chester Lee, Billy Joe and Howard Leslie Eley.
