Walter "Wally" R. Kolkmeier

Walter R. (Wally) Kolkmeier entered eternal rest on November 25, 2023 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Dorothy (Dot) M. Kolkmeier (nee Oelklaus); proud father of Cheryl (Darrell) Benne, Wally (Kim) Kolkmeier, Pam (Phil) Sigmund, and Jeff (Debbie) Kolkmeier. Devoted Grandfather of Brad (Kristin) Benne, Wally (Ali) Kolkmeier, Erica (Wes) Coil, Wendy (Corey) Tucker, Christine Pirtle, Julia (Chris) Branco, Clayton (Elizabeth) Benne, Kayla (Shawn) Finklein, Michelle (Matt) Lenz, Jeffrey (Kelsey) Kolkmeier, Emma (Nick) Scholl, and Danny Kolkmeier. Loving Great Grandfather to 21 great grandchildren.

Walter Rae was preceded in death by his parents Walter H. & Pearl C. (nee Pfeiffer) Kolkmeier. He was a Brother-in-law, Uncle, Cousin and friend to many.

Wally was married to his wife Dot for 67 years. He was a lifelong member of Friedens Church and very devoted to his faith. He was a member of Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council since 1955 and he retired in 1998. For 70 plus years he was a proud member of Carpenters Local 32.

Wally enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting with his family and friends. He loved vacationing with Dot and their friends. He also spent many hours helping his family build their homes. He enjoyed woodworking and making heartfelt gifts for his kids and grandkids. Everyone enjoyed his daily “Good Morning” Facebook posts and his witty jokes.

Wally was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
