Wanda Jean (Mears) Colella, 84, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, June 13, 2017 after a prolonged illness.
She was born March 15, 1933. Wanda was known as a smart, hard working woman. She had many occupations throughout her life, but her strong suit was in food service. She was a manager, involved in food safety, prep and all things surrounding the field, working until the age of 74. She led a very eventful life, and it is difficult to elaborate in a few words. She enjoyed game shows, crossword puzzles and liked to play the slot machines.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Alcester Colella; three sisters, Vera Parks, Reecie Whetstone and Mary Wall.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa (David) Young; son, Jerry; granddaughter, Nicole Young; and many nieces and nephews.
She was loved by many, and will be missed by all.
A committal service will be held at 1:15 p.m. on Friday, June 30, at the Chapel at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
