Brooks, Wilbur, of St. Charles, Missouri, died on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at the age of 86. Loving husband of Lois L. Brooks (nee: Castle); dear son of the late George and Lucinda Brooks; devoted father of Lavonne (Jim) Breite, Teresa (Charles Krebs) Brooks, and Scott (Chunya) Brooks; cherished grandfather of Matt Breite, and Erica (Justin) Bergfalk; dear brother of Ozena (the late Walter) Modlin and Dewey Brooks. Beloved uncle, brother-in-law, and friend to many. He is preceded in death by his sister Marlene Marts, and sons George Harrison Brooks and Marlin Eric Brooks. During the war, Mr. Brooks was a Landing Ship Tank (LST) welder and a welder for the war pipeline. After the war, Mr. Brooks owned Brooks Homes in Chandler, Indiana. As a pipeline welder he worked throughout the U.S. He also was the founder and owner of Brooks Brothers Trailers, was a sales professional at Tram Vans, and was a realtor at Coldwell Banker and Meyer Real Estate. Mr. Brooks was also an active member of Faith United Methodist Church where he has been a member since 1968, a member of the Golden 55ers, the Methodist Men, and the St. Charles County Pachyderms.
