William B. Bill Hecht

Hecht, William Boyd of St. Charles, began his life with Jesus on Sunday, September 17, 2006 after a prolonged battle with cancer. William (Bill) Hecht was born in Granite City, IL on April 18, 1940, to Emil W. Hecht (d. September 1959) and Grace Ficke Hecht (d. November 1984). He is survived by his loving wife, Linda. He is also survived by his sons; Gregg (Dawn) Hecht of St. Charles, Todd (Jennifer) Hecht of O’Fallon; his daughters Marla Hecht of Pensacola, FL, Carla Hecht of St. Charles; and stepchildren; Lisa (Michael) Dobrich of St. Louis and Rod Plummer of St. Charles. He was a kind and loving grandfather to Tyler, Caylee, Madison, Cassidee, Delaney, Olivia, Shelby, Abby and Annelise. He was a dear godfather to Austin Graham of Omaha, NE; a loving brother of Don (Sue) Hecht of St. Charles and sisters Anne Wofford of Bland, MO; Lois Mitchell of Richmond, KY; Luella (Dale) Tollander of Mt. Home, AK and Norma (Leonard) Yelton of Osage Beach, MO and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Mr. Hecht owned and operated five Kentucky Fried Chicken stores in St. Charles County. He was active in the KFC franchisee organization for 39 years and served in numerous capacities. Bill opened his heart generously to many: his family, his friends and even strangers in need. He was loved by many and will be missed deeply. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, brothers; Everett, Stanley, Eugene; and sisters; Bernice, Helen, Ruth and Catherine. At the request of the deceased, Baue Funeral and Memorial Center of Saint Charles will handle the cremation. A Memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church located at 801 First Capitol Drive in Saint Charles, Missouri, on September 21, 2006 at 10 :30 AM. A Memorial gathering will precede the service beginning at 9:30 AM.
