William “Bill” John Bernickus, Sr.

William "Bill" John Bernickus, Sr. of O’Fallon, MO, formerly of Florissant, passed away at the age of 78 on Sunday, July 14, 2019. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Helen Bernickus; and his brother, Alex Bernickus.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Bernickus of 56 years; his children, William Bernickus, Jr., Thomas (Laura) Bernickus, and Linda (Scott Norvell) Courtois; his grandchildren, Max Bernickus, Michael Bernickus, Katie Courtois, and Isabelle Bernickus; his siblings, Robert Bernickus and Carol Hill; his sister-in-law, Carolyn Bernickus; and he was an uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

Bill was an outdoorsman and was fond of spending time fishing or enjoying a round of golf. He was an avid sports fan and he loved watching games. Bill was a Mr. Fix it and a jack of all trades. He was a talented singer and griller and often barbequed for his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
