William "Bill" G. Kester

William “Bill” George Kester, 93, of O’Fallon, MO, passed away in hospice care on Sunday, July 16, 2023.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Doris Kester. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Jeffrey.

Bill was born December 28, 1929, in Granite City, Illinois to William and Frances (Bladdick) Kester. He graduated from Granite City High School. While attending high school, Bill was a member of the Buddy Wayne Orchestra playing trombone. After high school he proudly served his country in the United States army and was a Korean War Veteran. Following the service, he returned home and attended Saint Louis University and played trombone for the Art Oliver Orchestra and the Bob Annon Orchestra.

After graduating from Saint Louis University, he joined the retail accounting division of Sears, Roebuck working in several locations throughout the Midwest. He retired after 28 years at Sears to remain near family in the St. Louis area. He was then Chief Financial Officer for Creve Coeur Camera for 20 years before becoming a part-time financial team member there for nine more years.

Bill was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
