William “Bill” M. Woodson, of St. Peters, MO, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the age of 92. Beloved husband of 70 years to the love of his life, the late Mildred E. Woodson; cherished son of the late Virgil Woodson and Anna May Bridges. Preceded in death by his brother, Orville “Woody” Woodson, daughter, Beverly Woodson, grandson, Gregory Fazalion, son, Danny Woodson, and grandsons, Chris and Tim Woodson.
Devoted father of Michael (Patty) Woodson, Karen (Steve) Spurgeon, Sandy (Barry) McReynolds, father-in-law of Barbara Woodson; loving grandfather of Michael Woodson, Shelby, Kylie, Steve Jr., Hallee Spurgeon, Madison (Adam) Keisker, Ashley, Jake McReynolds. Treasured great-grandfather of Chris Jr., Brayden and Jacee Woodson and Ava Keisker, dear brother of Walter Bridges.
Bill proudly and honorably served in the United States Army. He started his career at Greyhound Bus lines Inc. in St. Louis, Missouri in 1944 at the age of 16. He accomplished learning many new skills and knowledge to work through the company and retired in 1990 as a Regional Manager, in Omaha, Nebraska. Upon retirement, Bill and Mildred moved back to St. Louis, to once again be surrounded by lifetime friends and family as his greatest accomplishment was family. He cherished the time he spent with family and enjoyed bragging about them, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bill was a member of the Odd Fellows, also known as the Triple Link Fraternity, with the motto: Friendship, Love and Truth where he served as Noble Grand Master. He will be remembered as a man of great chivalry, a true gentleman. Bill was very kind and generous, always lending a helping hand to others. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorial Contributions in Bill’s name may be made to
Shriners Hospital for Children. Flowers may be sent to the Memorial Park Chapel.
Committal service to be held in Memorial Park Chapel, military honors will be rendered following the service at gravesite.
