William “Bill” Owens

September 16, 1929 — February 9, 2018

William "Bill" Owens of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away on Friday February 9, 2018, at the age of 88. Beloved husband of the late Alice Owens; cherished son of the late Kenneth Orville and Alice Ilene Owens; devoted dad of Alicia (Ron) Lohrman and Bill (Rebecca Douglas) Owens; loving granddad of Heather (Michael) Havermann, Mark (Curie) Lohrman, and Lindsey (Ryan Adams) Owens, treasured great-granddad of Maxx, Zach, Lindsay, and M.J.; and great-great-granddad of Riley and Gianni; dear brother of Frances Sneathen, Jerry (Petie) Owens, Sharon Kniska, and Trish (Bob) Willmering, brother-in-law of Liz (Bob) Ware; special friend of Joan Minogue and her children John and Mary Ellen. William is preceded in death by his brothers Kenneth Orville Owens, Jr. and Forrest Owens. He is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

William proudly served his country with honor in the United States Navy during the Korean War and was a member of the U.S. Navy League. He was also a member and past president of the Bridgeton Optimist Club. In his younger years he enjoyed the outdoors and being on the water, and will be remembered as a good humored and funny man, with a wonderful positive attitude. William was a beloved dad, granddad, great-granddad, great-great granddad, brother, uncle, and dear friend. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
