Captain William “Travis” Crudup, of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Friday, August 11, 2023, at the age of 71. Beloved Husband of Thelma Crudup; cherished son of the late William George and Pauline Veralyn Crudup. Devoted father of Chandra Dionne Crudup, Taylor Simone Crudup, and Travis Austin Crudup; loving grandfather of Alexis Rena Nelson; dear brother Kenneth Wayne Crudup; beloved nephew, uncle, cousin, brother-in-law, and friend. Preceded in death by three sisters, Sandra Jean McFarland, Pamela Joyce Crudup, and Kathleen Jeannette Miller.
Travis graduated from Joliet East High School, Joliet, IL. He excelled in academics, chess, wrestling, football, and band. He continued his formal education at Joliet Junior College, Kentucky State University, the University of Wisconsin, and Columbia University where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
Travis honorably served in the United States Army for 7 years and earned the rank of Captain. After his service in the Army, Travis worked in the private sector for 34 years in various Director, Management, and Analyst positions. He retired from Cenlar FSB in 2023.
Travis confessed Christ at an early age at Second Baptist Church, Joliet, IL. He was a member of Church on the Rock, Saint Peters, MO for 20 years and a member of the St. Louis Chess Club. Travis was a loving and devoted husband, the best father in the world, a great human being, and a giant among men. Travis was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in William 's name to American Cancer Society.
