William “Dean” Whitworth

June 11, 1935 — October 29, 2014

William Dean Whitworth, 79, of O'Fallon, MO, died Oct. 29, 2014 with family by his side. He is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn Whitworth, and his children Craig (Kimberley) Whitworth, of St. Charles, MO, and Corey (Lisa) Whitworth, of Kansas City, MO. He is the proud grandfather of Bryce, Bailey and baby Whitworth (to arrive in late Nov.). He was a dear brother-in-law, cousin, uncle and friend to many.
Dean was born June 11, 1935, in St. Louis, MO to Earl and Tula Whitworth. He graduated from Ritenour High School ('53), Central Methodist University ('59) with a degree in education, and from the University of Missouri-Columbia ('68) with a Master of Education degree. He served in the United States Army stationed at Fort Leonard Wood until being honorably discharged in 1964. He retired from Pattonville High School after 30 years of teaching. Dean served as a Councilman for the City of Bridgeton, MO, and after moving to O'Fallon, he enjoyed 10 years of volunteering for that city. He was involved in Boy Scouts as a youth and served as a scout leader for Pack 528, Troop 766 and Troop 525 (Bridgeton). He was an active member of Arlington United Methodist Church (Bridgeton) and Cornerstone United Methodist Church (O'Fallon). He greatly enjoyed genealogy and traveling with family and friends.
Visitation will be held 4-8 pm, Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, at Baue Funeral Center, 3950 W. Clay, St. Charles, MO. A memorial service, scheduled for 11 am, Saturday, Nov. 8, preceded by 1 hour visitation, is to be held at Cornerstone United Methodist Church, 1151 Tom Ginnever Dr., O'Fallon, MO.
