William Edward Hahs

William Edward Hahs of Lake Saint Louis, MO, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017, at the age of 87. Loving husband of 62 years to the late Sarah Opal Hahs; beloved son of the late Ralph and Mary Hahs; devoted father of Ed (Tammy) Hahs; cherished grandfather of James (Erin) Hahs, Jeff D. (Mendee) Desoner, William Hahs, the late Terry (Randy) Nelson; treasured great-grandfather of Matt (Michelle) Nelson, MacKenzie Nelson, Tyler Desoner, and numerous other step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren; dear father-in-law of Wayne Jackson; and grandfather-in-law of Randy Nelson; and dearest uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

William is preceded in death by his siblings, Ruth (Vincent) Hohman and Ralph Hahs, and his step-children Chuck, Betty, and Barbara.

William proudly served his country and retired after more than 28 years in the United States Army.  In his younger years he enjoyed playing soccer, and after retirement he loved dancing and taking lessons at Dance Pizazz.  He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and looked forward to watching the games.  William enjoyed all types of music, but was a dedicated listener of Big Band Music.  He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
