William Everett Bushnell, a longtime resident of Florissant, MO, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 20, 2019 at the age of 94. Beloved husband of 34 years to the late Mildred “Millie” Bushnell, and his first wife of 25 years, the late Janet K. (Koetter) Bushnell; cherished son of the late Samuel and Gertrude Bushnell. Devoted father of David Bushnell and Laurie (Chris) Beste; loving grandfather of Heather Bushnell (nee: Dees), Nicholas Beste, and Amanda (Rob) Warmann; Treasured great-grandfather of Max and Grey Warmann; Bill was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilbur, Richard, and Charles; and his sister, Frances Bushnell (nee: Miller).
Bill graduated from St. Charles Senior High School, Class of 1944. During Bill’s senior year in high school, he was drafted into the United States Navy. Upon his completion of active military service, he returned to St. Charles and completed requirements for his high school diploma. Bill proudly and honorably served in the United States Navy during World War II.
Bill retired from a long, successful, and rewarding career in sales. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues, Missouri Tigers and watching professional golf. Family and friends meant the most to him and knew how to make people feel special when it was just you and him.
He was a great role model and mentor. He was involved with coaching kids in various sporting activities. He enjoyed keeping up with the current news, both local and international. He loved following the ongoing drama in Washington D.C. and never minced words when he felt our elected officials made some bad choices.
He enjoyed cooking for himself. He loved listening to music from his “8-track,” and “cassette” tape collection. He really enjoyed the music from the 40s, 50s, and 60s.
William was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
