William F. Willbrand, Sr.

September 10, 1928 — February 26, 2014

William 'Bill' F. Willbrand Sr., born September 10, 1928 passed away after 85 years of inspiring, leading and touching the lives of his family as well as every one who came into contact with him. Bill was best described as a jolly man with a contagious smile. Bill served as president of St. Charles Insurance until his retirement. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Lions Club and the American Legion. He spent his retirement as an avid boater, fisherman, bowler and card player.
Bill was preceded in passing by his late wife of 49 years, Mary Lou Willbrand. After ten years we know that she was ready to see him again. On February 26, 2014, William's family gathered at St. Joseph's Hospital with him. As he felt their love and presence, he knew that God was beckoning him to join him in Heaven. Dear son of the late Archibald "Archie" and Gertrude Willbrand; devoted father of William "Bill" (Geri) Willbrand, Jr. and Annette Marie Vaughn; cherished grandfather of Stephanie (Jason) Grothe, Heather (Kyle) Lopez, Merideth (John) Townsend, Dustin Willbrand, Ashly, Mark, Sierra, Philip and John; beloved great grandfather of Olivia Grothe, Tate Townsend, Brodie Lopez, Reed Townsend, Parker Townsend, Henry Lopez, Lily Grothe, and Rose Mary Townsend; dear brother of Rose Marie Wynn, Deacon Tom (Sonia) Willbrand, and Marva Lee (Richard) Prinster; and beloved friend of Bernice Nacke. He is preceded in death by his son Gregory Paul Willbrand, great-granddaughter Mary Katherine Townsend, and brother "Jack" Willbrand.
Memorials may be made to Birthright of St. Charles or Duchesne High School.
