William George Benjamin Roberts
June 21, 1933 — June 27, 2018
William George Benjamin Roberts, of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at the age of 85. Loving husband of 63 years to Dolores L. Roberts; beloved son of the late William and Delphine Roberts; devoted father of Karen (Ronald) Carr; and cherished grandfather of Patrick Carr (Kimberly Bethke), Sean Carr (Olivia Antonmarchi), and Brendan Carr.
William proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired after more than 20 years as a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service. He loved traveling with his wife and visiting historic libraries and museums. He made it as far west as Kansas to visit the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum. William was an avid football fan who enjoyed cheering on the Chicago Bears, then later the Rams when he moved to St. Louis. He was also a lifelong Cubs fan, but gave in and cheered on the Cardinals in his new home state. He was dearly loved, and will be missed by all who knew him.
Memorial contributions may be made in William’s honor to the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul.
