At the age of 72, William Robert McNeilly (Bill) passed away on February 27th, 2008 at his home. Bill was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, June 18, 1935. He lived most of his childhood in Webster Groves, Missouri and graduated from Washington Univeristy with a Chemical Engineering Degree. Bill was a quiet, thoughtful and independent man who cherished his wife, Carola Utsch McNeilly, during their 50 years of marriage, his children and grandchildren. In 1962, Bill and Carola settled in Bridgeton, Missouri to raise their family of four children: Christina J. (Walck); William U.; Carola J. (McLaughlin); and Rosemary J. (Cantrell). Bill worked 30 years for McDonnell Douglas. During his retirement years he became very involved with the adoption agency, Future, Inc., where he helped to facilitate many children to find their forever families. He took great pleasure in many things including computers, reading, bird watching and history. His family and friends enjoyed his analytical mind, thought provoking discussions and dry Irish humor. Bill is remembered by his children as a wonderful father who also became a good and steadfast friend and advisor as they became adults. Bill is survived by his wife, four children, nine grandchildren and sister, Jayne. His family celebrates his life, legacy and the importance Bill continues to have in each of their lives. Services: Memorial service will be held on Friday, March 7, at 10 am at Baue Funeral Home, 620 Jefferson Street, St. Charles, MO.
