William T. Riordan of Lake St. Louis, Missouri, died Sunday, September 13, 2015, at the age of 92. Beloved husband of the late Adeline Riordan; cherished son of the late James and Jule Riordan; devoted father of Linda (Wayne) Watson, Rick (Michelle) Riordan, and Kim (Jock) Gibbs; loving grandfather of Shawn Ray, Kyle (Paul) Chandler, Suzanne Riordan, Nicholas (Danielle) Riordan, and the late Daniel P. Riordan; and cherished great-grandfather of Amber Ray, Daniel Riordan, Grace Riordan, and Alice Riordan.
He was known mostly as “Bill” to friends, but also affectionately as “Gaucho” to those veterans with whom he served as a combat navy pilot from World War II through his military retirement in 1967. Afterwards he continued to serve his country, including as civilian director of the Defense Mapping Agency. All who knew him admired his courage and professionalism, his utter devotion to family and friends, and his devout faith.
