Wray Sutton

March 31, 1928 — March 25, 2005

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SSM Hospice. Wray Sutton, born March 31, 1928 at Gravois Mills, MO. Born of Frank Sutton and Addie Cecil Smith. He was one of 11 children. His parents preceded him in death. His mother passed away Nov. 23, 1960, his father Feb. 08, 1978. Five brothers preceded him, Clarence, Emmit, Al, Don & Wayne Sutton and one sister Leta Inman. Surviving are: two sisters Darlene Bonine & husband Mancil of Kansas City, MO., Georgia Colburn of Sun City, Arizona and two brothers, C.E. Sutton and his wife Hattie of O'Fallon and Max Sutton and wife Debbie of Gravois Mills, MO. He married Patricia Ann Howdeshell in St. Charles, MO, Dec. 30, 1967. One child was born from the union, Wray Thomas Sutton of O'Fallon. Wray Thomas and wife Mary Teresa Bryant Sutton survive. He had two sons by a previous marriage, Dennis Wary and David Lyle Sutton both of Versailles, MO., two step-children whom he raised, Theresa Armistead & husband Mike of Foley, MO and James Howdeshell of O'Fallon, MO. He was the grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather of one 1. Wray worked and retired from General Motors in St. Louis, MO with 30 years of service. Thirteen of those years were in the Kansas City, MO plant. He retired June 1982. Mrs. Sutton also worked for Mike and Judy Hartley for several years in Elsberry, MO in their car wash and Laundry Mat. He also worked for Don Lovelace at Elsberry Carpet after he retired. He served his country in the Army Novembeer 14, 1950 until October 31, 1952. Wray accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Saviour in May of 2000.
