Baue Funeral Homes has partnered with HeartLight to offer a variety of support groups, education, resources, and special programming related to grief and loss. At any time in the upcoming weeks, months, or years, we invite you, your family, and friends to connect with HeartLight Center in a way that Is meaningful to you.

Welcome to HeartLight Center, my name is Jenn and on behalf of the Heartlight community, we are glad you are here.


At HeartLight, we know your story is unique and the pain of grief can be intensely personal. That doesn’t mean you have to face it alone.


HeartLight Center is a not-for-profit offering meaningful, accessible grief support and education. HeartLight offers virtual and in-person grief support groups, workshops, seminars, and resources for individuals and organizations.


HeartLight has an extended professional support network so we can best meet your needs as you gain strength and peace through your personal grief journey.

Annual Remembrance Programs 

  • Veterans and Peace Officers are honored during our annual Memorial Services in May.
  • Every June, Baue hosts Seeds of Hope, a remembrance program with a balloon release. In September, the Paws to Remembber pet honoring ceremony is held.
  • Dr. Alan Wolfelt from the Center for Loss and Life Transitions Presents a seminar in October for the bereaved.
  • In December, Baue hosts our annual Holiday Remembrance candle lighting programs at the three locations.

Grief Classes 

We are proud to offer ongoing classes on a variety of topics to help families.


Whether it is a small or large group you will find people you can identify with and share experiences.


Led by professionals these classes are popular and make a difference in peoples lives.

Silver and Gold Club

If you are 60 or better and interested in meeting new people, connecting with old friends and having fun, the Silver & Gold Club is for you!


This club holds several well-attended events each year – with most events averaging more than 200 people.


There is no cost to join and there are over 2,500 members.

Grief Library

Baue provides an extensive lending library at the St. Charles location at 620 Jeff Street. This is the most comprehensive Grief Library in the area and is available 7 days a week.


We also offer an online Grief Library which contains articles written by Dr. Alan Wolfelt, PhD.
